Although Hutchinson, Minnesota is the largest city in McLeod County, the county seat is the much smaller town of Glencoe. McLeod County was the site of several events during the Sioux Uprising of 1862, including the siege of Hutchinson and the killing of the White family near Brownton.

Historic Hutchinson, an organization with the mission “To restore, to preserve and to protect the living and structural history and spirit of the Hutchinson area and to showcase these assets now and for the future,” has created a historical tour of Hutchinson. This scrapbook includes primarily photographs taken along this driving tour on November 11, 2006.
