March 07, 2008 Victorian Alliance Jack Gold
On Friday, March 7, 2008, the Victorian Alliance held a small reception to welcome Jack Gold, the new Executive Director of San Francisco Architectural Heritage, to San Francisco.
The Victorian Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation and restoration of Victorian and other historic structures, particularly within the city of San Francisco. It was founded in 1972 by a group of private citizens who were alarmed over the mounting demolition of entire neighborhoods of San Francisco's Victorian heritage. Also of concern was the popular trend to strip Victorian homes of their adornment and character, leaving remuddled structures in their place.
